Luma Industrial Fund is owned by Luma Investment SA fund, it invests capital and works for the development of production and service companies in the steel and casting sectors, as well as energy and mineral resources extraction.
The Fund’s portfolio includes the leading European manufacturers of ferro-alloys, as well as the Polish foundries producing parts for the automotive industry worldwide. The Fund is also active in real estate.
Luma Industrial Fund’s companies sell their products to approximately 200 customers in 20 countries around the world, including but not limited to such renowned brands as Pilkington, ThyssenKrupp, Saint-Gobain Sekurit czy Arcelor Mittal. Wide relations of the owner and the managers go beyond segment and are the basis for the development of the foreign part of the business.

Portfolio companies under Luma Industrial Fund receive a full range of support in the areas of finance, accounting, controlling and analysis, legal services, HR services marketing and PR, IT maintenance and development of ERP and CRM systems, optimizing production and raising funds from EU programs PARP and others.
A leading manufacturer of ferro-alloys in the region – annually produces 80 000 tonnes of this product, that is approx. 10% of the total European production. Re Alloys market share in Germany, Czech Republic and Slovakia amounts to 30%.
Kutno is a modern cast iron foundry, offering top quality products made of grey or ductile cast iron, as well as core and coreless products. Foundry operates in a full service system- draft preparation of a technical records, moulding, casting, machining, painting, completion and delivery.
Saga is a manufacturer of ready-made components used primarily for the automotive market. The company offers complementary services for the production of components made of aluminium alloys and zinc: from the preparation of moulds, casting of parts, surface treatment, cataphoretic and spray painting, palletising and advice on MTB.
The company specialises in consultancy on improving efficiency of production process, including using own innovative solutions for the recovery of electricity and heat. The company consists of a specialised team of engineers, who in collaboration with scientists develop innovative solutions to modernise and optimise production costs.
a company having installations to purify post-production gases produced during ferroalloys production. Our special care for environment is also underlined by using bag filters of bag house of the efficiency of approx. 99%, which ensure maximum reduction of dust and gas emission from furnace units.
Cooperation with universities
Research and development occupy a special place in Luma Industrial Fund.We understand that innovative undertakings are of strategic importance for business development, as well as for the whole economy. Beside own R&D departments, we implement many projects in cooperation with Polish and foreign universities.
Within the cooperation with AGH we lead to conclusion of agreements with a number of universities across the world in terms of scientific exchange, implementation of collaborative scientific projects and academic exchange (also within AGH UNESCO program).
On Luma’s initiative agreements with University of Mitrovica (Kosovo), Geological Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rwanda National Resources Authority and University in Kigali were concluded.
We participate as well in EIT Raw Materials program where in the ENEX project our partners are i.a.: Chalmers University of Technology, LTU Business AB, Luleå University of Technology, Fraunhofer, DDH1 DRILLING PTY LTD, Minalyze AB.
We create reports and scientific publications with many universities and industrial institutes. Additionally, our own R&D departments develop projects which take part in competitions for co-financing organised by NCBiR [National Centre of Research and Development], PARP [Polish Agency for Enterprise Development] or EU.One of our latest projects is a project of a worldwide unique parameters product manufacturing, prepared by Re Alloys. The project received co-financing from NCBiR of approx. 10 m PLN.
Within the fund, we care about the environment. All factories being managed by the Fund implement new technologies that are not only efficient and cost-effective, but also environmentally friendly.
Production waste is managed (for example, converted into slag or biogas), a modern waste water treatment plants allow for water recovery and its reuse in the production. Companies being managed by the Fund are also investing in renewable energy sources.
